Welltec has been developing two-platen machines since the 1990s, launched its first in 2000 under national design patents, began batch production in 2002, and built China’s first 4,000-ton two-platen machine in 2007. The JSeII, launched in 2016, brought that architecture down into the 450 to 900 ton range where most large-part moulders in Pakistan actually operate.

The advantage is immediate and physical: there is no toggle, so the machine is dramatically shorter than an equivalent toggle machine of the same tonnage. On a crowded shop floor that difference decides whether a machine fits at all. Clamping is done by four short-stroke cylinders embedded in the fixed platen, acting evenly across the mould mounting face, with two diagonally placed cylinders handling fast mould open and close.

Fewer mechanical parts also means less to maintain — with no toggle, the hydraulic cylinder seals are essentially the only wearing parts. The tie bars do not rub against the moving platen, and a synchronous tie-bar locking system with a buffer keeps nut locking precise with minimal rebound. Extended moving platen support keeps movement accurate even under a heavy mould, which extends mould life as well as machine life.

Energy saving averages over 50%, and product weight repeatability holds to a deviation of less than 0.3%. Control is the European B&R system on a 15” colour touch screen with a separate operation keyboard, with the iSee 4.0 interface built in for real-time monitoring and remote diagnosis.

Where it fits: large parts in a constrained space — crates and pallets, automotive bumpers and panels, large containers, furniture, and any deep mould where the long opening stroke matters. Note the wide opening stroke range on each model: the machine can be set to a short stroke for fast cycling or opened right up for deep-draw parts.
