All-Electric

Servo-electric precision moulding with 30–50% lower energy consumption than hydraulic machines.

New

On an all-electric machine every axis — injection, plasticising, mould open and close, ejector, carriage and mould adjustment — is driven by its own servo motor and ball screw. There is no hydraulic pump running in the background, which is where the 30–50% energy saving over a hydraulic machine comes from, along with much lower noise, no oil in the moulding area and far less cooling water.

The trade-off is capital cost, so the case for all-electric is strongest where precision, cleanliness or energy cost dominate: medical components, optical parts, thin-walled technical mouldings, and any high-cavitation job running continuously where the energy saving compounds quickly.
